Fantastic book, i cannot remember the last time I stayed up reading through the night. we are of similar age, and my parents came to the UK in the 50,s. So many things you write about I have experienced, from watching the fuss over a priests visit, to my uncle saying you will never come back you will never come back, as the trains pulled out of the little station in the west of Ireland. Have passed it to my father, and I know he will now spend the next week or so having a good old chuckle as he reads. This book has stirred up so many happy memories. It is a MUST read for all Irish families. Well done now hurry up and write another book.

Fantastic book; will write my name in it to make sure it doesn’t get lost as I know many family members and friends who would also love to read it.
Would not be easy to translate though in Flemish/Dutch because of all the feelings and meanings in the sayings!

Just read your book couldn’t put it down! Many of my mother’s family including herself for a while emigrated to London in 40s and 50s – it brought back memories all happy – my mother sadly now gone would have loved it too. Best wishes to you and for your family

Dear Anna May,
Thank you for writing your wonderful book about your family. I was in there with you all and couldn’t put the book down. I ran the whole gamut of emotions, especially the breast cancer diagnosis which I also suffered, 32 years ago. Am still fairly well and importantly still able to read! When is the next one coming out? Not putting so much pressure, I have a couple of books to read while I’m waiting. Best wishes for your health and happiness.
