11 JulBoogie Brother

I called to speak to my big brother today.  He couldn’t come to the phone because he  was still  in bed at 2.30pm. The reason ? He had been to his works do (he is THE boss) where he had very much enjoyed the bottle of wine per head that came with the meal that came before the disco. His wife who was driving and drinking lemonade has no idea where the  bottle of wine with her name on it went to……

Apparently he shocked her and everyone else there by dancing with gusto (arms and legs) to Brown Sugar. Singshouting along and everything. This is probably the first time he has danced since our mother forced him into to Irish dancing lessons almost fifty years ago.

I hope he’s up in time for work on  Monday morning. 2 days sleep should sort him out. Should we blame his collapse  on the boogie - or the male menopause ?

When I told our children about their Dad’s ” John Travalto ” moment they laughed and said that as long as we hadn’t attempted to dance to anything more modern it was OK , as that would definitely have been GROSS!!! On reflection, whilst he danced with the girks and women from the office, it was only me he kept badgering to dance WITH him—— it must be love after all.
